Two N.Y. Jail Officers Acquitted of Charges They Beat Inmate

Two jail officers were acquitted February 21 of charges they beat a former inmate accused of harassing one of the men's sister.
William D. Gorman and Roy T. Hoffman III were found innocent of assault charges in the beating of Syed Jaffrey, when he was an inmate at Albany County Jail.
Jaffrey was jailed last year after Gina Gorman, William Gorman's sister, accused the Pakistani native of trying to get her to pull over on a highway while driving a used police car. Jaffrey had bought the state police cruiser legally from an auto auction. The markings had been removed.
While in his cell, Jaffrey said the two correction officers handcuffed him, kicked him and punched him repeatedly. He was hospitalized with rib, lung and liver injuries.
Jaffrey was later acquitted of criminally impersonating a police officer and reckless endangerment.

Do you know someone who has been arrested in Waco or McLennan County? It’s important to find a good Waco lawyer to represent you in the matter involving your own liberty. Look for the best Waco family law attorney that you can find. Whether you have been accused rightly or wrongly, it’s important to know your legal rights that concern whether you go to jail.
