Recent violence at S.C. prisons left two inmates and a corrections officer injured, authorities say. On February 27, an inmate punched a McCormick Correctional Institution corrections officer in the temple, the Corrections Department said. James Richard White, 40, an inmate at Kershaw Correctional Institution, has emerged from a coma after being punched by another inmate during a pickup basketball game February 25. Another Kershaw inmate, Muhammad Abdallah, 23, was stabbed in the left shoulder and head while working in the cafeteria on February 23. |
