Relatives of a murder victim are suing Viacom over an episode of cable channel VH1's 'Music Behind Bars' series that featured a performance by the killer.
Linda Garrett and Misty Hart, both of Clarksburg, Virginia claim any mention of Jason Henthorne causes them emotional distress. They filed the lawsuit Wednedsay in US District Court in Clarksburg.
Henthorne was convicted in 1994 of first-degree murder for shooting Michael Hart -- Garrett's son and Misty Hart's brother.
Henthorne was sentenced to life with mercy and is eligible for parole in 2009. He played guitar in an inmate band at Mount Olive Correctional Center that performed in an episode of 'Music Behind Bars' that aired in November.
The lawsuit claims one song was about Michael Hart, and that the lyrics were threatening and harassing toward Garrett and Misty Hart.
Both women, and Gov. Wise, were unsuccessful in attempts to persuade VH1 to pull the episode.
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages.
VH1 officials declined to comment.

Do you know someone who has been arrested in Waco or McLennan County? It’s important to find a good Waco lawyer to represent you in the matter involving your own liberty. Look for the best Waco Criminal Defense Attorney that you can find. Whether you have been accused rightly or wrongly, it’s important to know your legal rights that concern whether you go to jail.
