Border patrol agents say one of the fugitives told agents his car had broken down and he needed to make a call. While he was at the checkpoint, New Mexico State Police reported the man was an escapee from the Grant County Detention Center. U.S. Border Patrol agents found an AR15-rifle, a .357 revolver with ammo, three riot control CS gas grenades and one of the victims was allegedly wearing a bulletproof vest. His two alleged accomplices were found in the area where their car had broken down. The trio escaped from the Grant Jail nearly three weeks ago before their recapture and are in The Dona Ana County Jail. |
