Inmates Watched Porn at Canadian Prison

Hundreds of inmates at a federal prison watched a pornographic movie and feasted on pizza as part of a deal with jail officers not to create a disturbance on New Year's Eve, Corrections Canada officials say.
The pornography was broadcast over the internal TV system of the Saskatchewan Penitentiary in Prince Albert to up to 450 prisoners - some of whom are serving time for sex offences.
During the broadcast female corrections officers were on duty. The prison also has a women's unit with 22 female inmates.
``Indeed, an adult film was shown to the offender population in the medium security component of the institution,'' Tim Krause, spokesman for the Correctional Service of Canada's Prairie region, said.
``It was totally inappropriate behavior, completely inappropriate within a correctional environment and it is something that we are taking extremely seriously.''
He said a formal investigation was underway.
A woman's group was furious that inmates would be allowed to view such sexually explicit material.
Dawn McCarthy of the group Sexual Assault Services of Saskatchewan said the move could have put women in the prison at risk.
Krause said the prison, 130 kilometers northwest of Saskatoon, has a history of discipline problems over the holidays.
For the past two years inmates have lit fires and refused to return to their cells on New Year's Eve, he said

Hiring an attorney can present confusing situations for someone. It’s hard to tell whether you’ll get the best service possible in your situation. You likely have a lot of questions. Will your lawyer hand off your matter to someone else? Will your lawyer return your phone calls? It’s hard to know without someone you can trust. If you been Waco daycare abuse attorneys you need a lawyer. People in Central Texas have trusted Dunnam & Dunnam for almost 100 years for their most pressing legal concerns. They understand the value of a good advocate. They’re a family helping Waco families since 1925.
