Texas Fugitive Captured In Connecticut

Published: 02/13/2002

One of Texas' most wanted fugitives has been captured at a honkytonk -- in Connecticut.
Police say James Wesley Howard was arrested early yesterday morning after a night of country line dancing at the Illusions Cafe in Wolcott.
The 39-year-old Howard is a convicted killer, who was wanted after jumping parole in September.
He had served seven years in prison after he and another man killed two people with a 12-gauge shotgun in Houston in 1979. Police say they tracked Howard to a friend's house in Connecticut after he used his brother's name during a drunken driving arrest in Illinois.
Howard is currently being held in Wolcott's jail, awaiting an extradition hearing.

Hiring an attorney can present confusing situations for someone. It’s hard to tell whether you’ll get the best service possible in your situation. You likely have a lot of questions. Will your lawyer hand off your matter to someone else? Will your lawyer return your phone calls? It’s hard to know without someone you can trust. If you been rollover accident in Waco you need a lawyer. People in Central Texas have trusted Dunnam & Dunnam for almost 100 years for their most pressing legal concerns. They understand the value of a good advocate. They’re a family helping Waco families since 1925.
