A chaplain at the Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility faces dismissal and criminal charges after she was caught in a sex act with a 17-year-old inmate in a closet, authorities said recently. The woman also is under investigation for inappropriate contact with at least five teen-agers at the all-male facility, which houses the most violent juvenile offenders, Indiana Department of Correction officials said. Billie Jo Pena, 36, of Anderson was charged with one count of Class D felony sexual misconduct and a misdemeanor count of official misconduct, Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings said Friday. Pena had not been arrested Friday. Her bond was set at $5,000. If convicted, she faces up to three years in prison. |
