| Conn. Prisoner Escapes After Treatment at Hospital |

State police Wednesday were searching for a 29-year-old prisoner who fled from a hospital emergency room in Putnam wearing only his boxer shorts. Gary A. Phillips of Danielson had been arrested Tuesday night after failing to appear in court on domestic violence charges. While being processed, he began complaining of severe chest pains and was taken to Day Kimball Hospital, police said. He bolted from the emergency room at about 1 a.m. and escaped, police said. He was last seen running from the hospital wearing only blue boxer shorts, police said. |
