Two men were arrested Monday in connection with the escape of a Bexar County Jail inmate who remains on the run.
Bexar County sheriff's deputies arrested Flavio Mesquiti at his home in San Antonio and is being held at the Bexar County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
Authorities also arrested a Houston man who was being transported to San Antonio Monday afternoon.
Officials said both suspects knew of a plan and had been in communication with Jimmy Ray Gorman prior to his escape on June 25.
Gorman was scheduled to receive medical treatment when he escaped through a first-floor window of the University Health Center in the 500 block of North Leona.
Gorman then stole a flatbed truck and allegedly forced his way into a home on the city's Southwest Side and hog-tied a woman as he ransacked the house.
He fled with a .22-caliber rifle, some money, and a 2001 Toyota Camry that was discovered last week in Corpus Christi.
Bexar County sheriff's investigators said the two suspects were linked to Gorman, who authorities said may be connected to a white supremacy prison gang, through a telephone call.
Authorities also used recorded telephone conversations to arrest another suspect, Megan Schuldt, 22.
Officials said Schuldt's boyfriend, Ryan Holland, was Gorman's cellmate when he escaped.
Authorities said they expect to make at least six more arrests this week.
