Law enforcement crews are still searching for two prison inmates who escaped from the Northside Correctional Institution in Spartanburg, S.C.. The two men broke out Saturday night from the prison located on Broadcast Drive near downtown. The men were identified as Thomas Gary Simmons and Samuel Moody. Moody, who is serving a 15-year sentence for burglary, is described as a white male, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a medium build, brown hair and hazel eyes. Investigators said that Moody has a scar between his eyes. Simmons, who is serving 10 years for armed robbery, is described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall with a medium build and blue eyes. He has tattoos of a heart, the Grim Reaper and the letters 'JT' on his right arm. He also has a tattoo of a Playboy bunny on his right leg, investigators said. Officials said that the men are considered armed and dangerous. Prison officials said that they believe 24-year-old Crystal Hendricks, identified as Moody's girlfriend, could be with the two men. Earlier Sunday, searchers were concentrating on Pickens and Oconee counties, searching on the ground and by air. A new lead has led officials to the Easley area. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call 911. |
