Serial killer David Spanbauer, who murdered two girls and a woman, has died in prison, apparently of natural causes. He was 61. Spanbauer, who had liver and heart disease, died July 29 in an infirmary cell at Dodge Correctional Institution. A paroled sex offender, Spanbauer abducted and killed two girls, ages 10 and 12, in 1992 and 1994 as they bicycled on rural roads. He also killed a woman in her home in 1994. Spanbauer, who also confessed to many rapes, was sentenced to three life terms plus 405 years in 1994. ''Considering the tragedies that he's caused for numerous families around the state, you would be hard-pressed to find anyone who is shedding a tear over this death,' said District Attorney Vince Biskupic. |
