1917 Love Letters Found In Minn. Jail Wall
By WCCO

When the old Lincoln County Jail in Ivanhoe was torn down two years ago, workers found a faded yellow box, inside of which were 125 love letters from 1917 written by a woman named Fannie to a man named Jess, who is suspected to have hid them while jailed, the Marshall Independent reported.
Fannie -- who was married -- urged Jess to marry her, and at one point asked him to destroy the letters, which he obviously didn't as they were found in pristine condition, the newspaper said.
