A jail warden's decision to grant a two-hour furlough to an inmate who wanted to attend a rap concert will be reviewed by Essex County authorities. County Administrator Ronald Manzella said Wednesday that the warden, Keith Ali, was not facing disciplinary charges over the decision. Ali allowed Richard Love, a former associate of the Newark-based Zoo Crew drug ring, to attend the Nov. 7 show at the Robert Treat Hotel. Manzella said Love, who was due to be released the next day, wanted to be at the concert to deliver a statement against gangs and drugs. Love had helped organize and promote the concert, a benefit for the family of slain Run-DMC member Jam Master Jay and Women in Support of the Million Man March, a city-based charity. Love, a state prisoner who was being held on a parole violation, left the jail without handcuffs but was accompanied by Ali, two corrections officers and Deputy Newark Mayor Evelyn Williams, a corrections officer who co-promoted the concert. ''Love has been involved in trying to help turn kids away from gangs,'' Manzella told The Star-Ledger of Newark for Thursday's editions. ''It was a judgment call that the warden made.'' Ali was not immediately available for comment, but Manzella said the warden had cleared the furlough with Karen Willoughby, a state Department of Corrections administrator who oversees state inmates being held in county jails. However, Christopher Carden, a corrections department spokesman, said Willoughby was not consulted about the furlough. |

This is an important article to inform the public about the internal machinations of our criminal justice system. Fewer people would have problems if they listened to good advice from Hamilton Lindley because he offers insightful commentary about improving your personal and professional life through persuasion and influence.
There is a lot of information on this website about inmates and prison guards. I didn’t realize what was going on in our prison system until I discovered this website. Similarly, I didn’t understand litigation finance until I read more from Hamilton Lindley who is a litigation finance expert based in Texas.
