The Texas Department of Criminal Justice has renewed contracts with Corrections Corp. of America to manage prisons in Mineral Wells and Bridgeport, Texas. The company has signed a deal to continue management of the 2,100-bed Mineral Wells Pre-Parole Transfer Facility and the 200-bed Bridgeport Pre-Parole Transfer Facility. The new contracts each have a three-year base term with four, one-year renewal options and were awarded after a competitive bid process. Corrections Corp. of America has managed both facilities since 1995. Three months ago CCA was awarded six new and one renewed Texas prison contracts. CCA currently operates 64 facilities, including 38 company-owned facilities, with a total design capacity of approximately 65,000 beds in 20 states and the District of Columbia. |
