Three Wisconsin inmates at the Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution in Sheboygan County are in solitary confinement after being accused of ransacking a prison cottage.
Sheriff's authorities say the inmates barricaded themselves in the cottage last night and vandalized windows, a door, microwave, coffee maker and food cart.
The prison's tact team entered the cottage and the inmates gave up. Fifty other inmates in the housing unit stayed in their rooms and were not involved in the disturbance.
Detectives say damage is estimated at several thousand dollars. Authorities aren't sure why the inmates went on the rampage.
