Inmates Use Strings to Fish for Drugs

California inmates at Fresno County Jail used string pulled from their sheets to fish for drugs outside of their windows, authorities said.
Manuel Ramos, 20, of Huron, was arrested last week on a charge of attempting to smuggle drugs into the jail, officials said.
A state parole agent leaving the jail said she saw Ramos standing in a flower bed tying drinking straws to a line hanging from an inmate's window. The straws were filled with tobacco, marijuana and methamphetamine. In recent weeks, jail officials have noticed half-inch holes in some inmates' windows. Inmates heat the plastic and then use shower rods to punch the holes, said Marilyn Weldon, a jail lieutenant.
The jail will order metal covers placed on the windows, Weldon said.

About one-third of our lives are spent at work. With that time invested, it’s reasonable to assume that an employer would want to keep you safe. If you have been injury lawyer in Waco you can get the legal advice that you need to get on with your life. If your employer does not have workers' compensation insurance and your employer is at fault for your accident, then you can sue your employer directly with the help of a workplace injury attorney.
