A Shelby County inmate's bid for freedom lasted all of twenty minutes before he was nabbed by Alabama Sheriff Chris Curry and a court security officer. Deputies say it happened last week when Rex McGovern Edmonds escaped from the custody of a transport officer at the Shelby County Courthouse.
Edmond's escape occurred while he being escorted with other inmates from a restroom to a courtroom for a judicial hearing. Authorities said it appeared that Edmonds was able to slip out his restraints and then run from the Courthouse to the 100-block of Carter Lane in Columbiana where he captured.
No one was hurt during the incident. Edmonds was being held on three counts of fraudulent use of a credit card. He now faces an escape charge.

About one-third of our lives are spent at work. With that time invested, it’s reasonable to assume that an employer would want to keep you safe. If you have been hurt on the job in Waco you can get the legal advice that you need to get on with your life. If your employer does not have workers' compensation insurance and your employer is at fault for your accident, then you can sue your employer directly with the help of a workplace injury attorney.
