Five members of the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas were indicted Wednesday on firearms violations, U.S. Attorney Richard B. Roper said. Matthew C. Courtney, 34, and Cory D. Daniel and Aaron Thompson, both 27, were each charged with conspiracy to possess and dispose of 26 stolen firearms and other charges.

The indictment alleges that the firearms were stolen in a burglary. Daniel and Thompson are in state custody. An arrest warrant has been issued for Courtney, Roper said in a news release.

If convicted, Courtney and Thompson both face a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison, while Daniel would face up to 35 years. In another indictment, Jeffrey Lynn Womack, 27, was charged with one count of possession of an unregistered firearm.

Womack is in state custody after a traffic stop by Lubbock police officers turned up what appeared to be an improvised explosive device. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms determined that the device contained explosive powder, bird shot pellets, and screws designed to be ignited by a homemade fuse fashioned from string soaked in an accelerant, the release said.

Womack faces a possible maximum sentence of 10 years if convicted. In a third indictment, John Arthur Clark, 35, of Lubbock, is accused of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Clark, who is in state custody, faces a maximum 10-year sentence.

The Aryan Brotherhood is a violent white supremacist prison gang that has infiltrated nearly every federal and state prison since its beginnings in San Quentin in 1964.

About one-third of our lives are spent at work. With that time invested, it’s reasonable to assume that an employer would want to keep you safe. With a workplace injury attorney you can get the legal advice that you need to get on with your life. If your employer does not have workers' compensation insurance and your employer is at fault for your accident, then you can sue your employer directly with the help of a workplace injury attorney.
