Inmates evacuated amid complaints of illness
By News 8 Austin
Published: 01/26/2004

Several dozen inmates were evacuated from the Williamson County (Tex.) jail this morning. They complained of feeling sick.
Staff evacuated the inmates, fearing it might be carbon monoxide poisoning or a gas leak.
Jail staff called in a bus to keep the inmates secure and warm while they were outside the building.
EMS, Georgetown police and several area fire departments were called in to help, but they found no evidence of any problems and no one was transported.
All inmates were back in their cells before 9 a.m., less than three hours after they were evacuated.
