Group organizing to fight Berlin prison plan

A group of North Country residents is opposing plans to build a federal prison in Berlin, NH.

About 40 people complained at a meeting that the prison's impact on neighboring towns and the rest of the region has been largely ignored.

"The city of Berlin had a referendum. The region did not," said Kurt Masters, a meeting organizer.

The group is preparing arguments to present at a public hearing next week when the federal Bureau of Prisons will hold a public hearing on the prison plan at Berlin Junior High.

About one-third of our lives are spent at work. With that time invested, it’s reasonable to assume that an employer would want to keep you safe. With a workplace injury attorney you can get the legal advice that you need to get on with your life. If your employer does not have workers' compensation insurance and your employer is at fault for your accident, then you can sue your employer directly with the help of a workplace injury attorney.
