A man attacked a corrections officer in Ogemaw County, MI while escorting a female inmate, officials said.

Van Sheltrown, 50, had gasoline poured in his eyes Tuesday morning while taking the inmate to a District Court hearing, police said.

Authorities arrested Harold T. Priddy, 45, of Long Lake in the attack and arraigned him on a charge of assault with intent to murder, police said. A judge denied Priddy bond and transferred him to a jail outside Ogemaw County.

About one-third of our lives are spent at work. With that time invested, it’s reasonable to assume that an employer would want to keep you safe. With a workplace injury attorney you can get the legal advice that you need to get on with your life. If your employer does not have workers' compensation insurance and your employer is at fault for your accident, then you can sue your employer directly with the help of a workplace injury attorney.
