New information has been released about a Michigan prison riot at the Ojibway Correctional Facility in Marenisco.

Officials say the April 9 disturbance, which saw 14 corrections officers injured, began after some African-American inmates refused to leave a day room, in protest.
Investigators say, some inmates left peacefully, but 15 others attacked the officers.

One officer was stabbed in the neck. According to officials, 50 inmates, as a result of the incident, have been transferred to 3 maximum security facilities.
