Acting Secretary of
Woodford, 52, once served as warden of San Quentin State Prison and has more than 28 years of corrections experience. Sources say Woodford's resignation came after repeated conflicts with the California Correctional Peace Officers Association (CCPOA). Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed James Tilton as Woodford's replacement yesterday. Tilton has 13 years of experience in corrections and said in a statement that he had “a good working relationship” with the CCPOA. |
