Seven Illinois inmates are hospitalized following a fight at the Cook County Jail. The brawl broke out around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, authorities said. The inmates reportedly used homemade knives during the scuffle in the jail's maximum-security division. Officials say one man was critically wounded when he was stabbed in the back of the head. Six others received cuts and bruises. All seven inmates were taken to area hospitals to be treated. The fight is believed to be gang-related. No further details are available at this time. |
