A former Hamilton County, Ohio, corrections officer and part-time Mt. Healthy police officer is charged with trying to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex.

Police in Yellow Springs, Ohio conducting an Internet sex sting arrested Jason Etler of Colerain Township.

Yellow Springs police say Etler was online Friday night when he made contact with whom he thought was a 14-year-old girl.

But instead it turned out to be a Yellow Springs detective.

Yellow Springs police say that Etler was also in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The Mt. Healthy police department confirms that Etler was a part-time officer but also said that he did not make it past his probation, although they would not comment as to why.

Etler was also an auxiliary officer in Lockland for a short time but left when that program was done away with.

Etler reportedly told officer he used to work as a cop and was trying to find another commission somewhere.

He is charged with attempted importuning and has since been released on bond.
