Witke, of national engineering firm Mead & Hunt, will represent the American Institute of Architects for a four year term if elected. Balloting began by mail April 24th. Witke has more than 30 years of architectural experience with project planning, design, management, and master plan studies. His experience includes projects for health care facilities, prisons, juvenile detention, jails, courts, police, and municipalities. He actively participates on the ACA's Facility Design and Technology Committees and in 1999 edited and co-authored the Planning and Design Guide for Secure Adult and Juvenile Facilities. Witke is a current board member of AIA Wisconsin. "Being elected will allow me and my team to better serve our clients, and allow me the opportunity to give back to the corrections community," Witke says. "Participation in the ACA's accreditation process has always been a learning experience, and one that broadens and strengthens the abilities of the people involved. I hope to provide professional insight to the process and be a part of that evolution." |
