Garden City, KN - Finney County's director of Community Corrections has resigned, nearly three months after he was arrested on a domestic battery charge.

Tad Kitch, who resigned Monday, had been suspended without pay since March 19.

He was arrested Feb. 5 on allegations of domestic battery and criminal threat for allegedly threatening his then-fiancée. He pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor count of domestic battery on March 16, but the case is at a standstill while a new judge is assigned to the case.

County Administrator Pete Olson said Kitch's resignation is effective immediately.

Brandon Fisher, who has been the department's deputy director, will continue serving as acting director. He said he is considering applying for the permanent position.
