| Mulder given 200-year prison sentence |

LENNOX, SD A South Dakota man was sentenced to 200 years in prison after admitting to killing a Canton farmer a year ago. 43-year-old Gary Mulder pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in the death of Vince Beck in April of 2005. Mulder confessed that he broke into Beck's farm home, west of Canton, and shot him. Mulder's ex-wife, Laurie, and the couple's two daughters were living with Beck at the time of the shooting. The guilty manslaughter plea came in exchange for two charges of murder and one count of burglary being dropped. Mulder won't be eligible for parole for 100 years. |
