BEACON, NY - A corrections officer was arrested after allegedly stabbing her husband -- a fellow officer -- in front of inmates at a Hudson Valley prison.

State police say a fight between David Corso and Joann Corso spilled over to their workplace at Beacon Correction Facility, a minimum-security prison for women.

The fight between the husband and wife ended when Joann Corso stabbed her husband in the face with a pen. Several inmates witnessed the incident.

David Corso was treated for the facial injury and will require follow-up medical care but he was not hospitalized.

His wife was charged with second-degree assault and sent to jail on one thousand-dollars bail. She'll be back in court later this month.

Both Corsos have been suspended without pay, pending disciplinary action.
