WARTBURG, TN - A bus carrying a Brushy Mountain prison work crew overturned Monday, but no one was seriously hurt. Julie Oaks of the state Correction Department says five inmates and one officer were taken to a hospital to be examined.

Oaks says the bus had just left the prison near Wartburg when the driver pulled to the right to allow room for an oncoming car and the wheels dropped off the pavement.

The accident occurred at 7:58 a.m. on Flat Fork Road, just west of Wartburg.  All 14 inmates on the bus are accounted for.  The crew was being taken to a church in Oak Ridge for a work detail.
