PENSACOLA, FL - An Escambia County inmate has been charged with raping two other inmates, including a 15-year-old boy serving time as an adult, authorities said. Emery Curtis Lewis, 33, of Ocean Springs, Miss., was charged Wednesday with sexual battery against an adult inmate. He was charged April 28 with eight counts of sexual battery against the teenager. Lewis sexually assaulted the teen at night in their 22-bed quadrant, said Dennis Williams who was jail director at the time of the alleged incidents. Williams has since been named director of planning and research for the Sheriff's Office. The three have been separated, Williams said. The teenager was tried as an adult for a 2005 arson charge. At the time, the State Attorney's Office said the teen was prosecuted as an adult because of the serious nature of the charges. |
