| Authorities catch pants-less inmate |

ROME, GA - An escapee from Georgia's Floyd County Prison was literally caught with his pants down. Ronald Lee Neslein, 40, had shed his prison-issue clothes and was found last week in Myrtle Hill Cemetery wearing only his prison-issued white T-shirt and boxer shorts, authorities said. There had not been any tips or reported sightings of the inmate when Rick Jacobs, director of special operations for the state Corrections Department, spotted Neslein. "You'd think with as many people that were out on the street at the time, someone would have called him in as suspicious. You'd think he would have stood out," said Rome police Lt. Paul Greene. The inmate was found armed with a loaded .32-caliber handgun, although he was arrested without a struggle, said Rome police Lt. Gary Clayton. Neslein had been at the prison for about a month serving a 10-year sentence for theft of a motor vehicle and entering a vehicle in Douglas County, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections Web site. But now Neslein could face another five years in prison for the escape, said Warden Ann Brinkley. Brinkley said it was not clear how the inmate escaped from the prison and added the incident is being investigated. |
