| Federal inmates sentenced in prison assault |

Three inmates at a federal prison in Oakdale, La. have had their prison stays lengthened for assaulting a fellow inmate, federal prosecutors announced last Wednesday. Prosecutors said that Mario Pena, 36, stood as a look-out while Juan C. Olivares, 24, and Jose Mendoza-Baena, 29, kicked the victim repeatedly in the head face and ribs on June 8, 2002. Olivares and Mendoza-Baena were sentenced were sentenced to 5 years and 11 months in prison. Pena was sentenced to 4 years and 11 months in prison. |
