RENO, KS - A Reno County Sheriff's deputy arrested a Hutchinson Correctional Facility employee early Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence and possession of marijuana.

According to police reports, Deputy Jesse Downard stopped 48-year-old Anthony McElroy near the intersection of Yoder Road and U.S. 50.

Downard reported that McElroy's car crossed the center line several times and the suspect drove on the highway's shoulder, nearly hitting a traffic sign.

A preliminary test allegedly showed McElroy's blood alcohol content at .132 percent. The legal limit is .08.

Downard arrested McElroy and searched his vehicle, where he found a clear plastic bag filled with suspected marijuana. According to sheriff's reports, McElroy's blood alcohol content again was tested at the Law Enforcement Center, and it registered .128.

Steve Schneider, public information officer for Hutchinson Correctional Facility, said McElroy has worked at the prison since Oct. 15, 1984. He is free on $1,000 bond.
