| SLED: Dispute over radio led to inmate's death |

GREENVILLE, SC - A state agent says an inmate charged with killing a fellow prisoner last year was angry because he thought the victim lied about a stolen radio. Jeffrey Motts is accused of killing cellmate Charles Douglas Martin in December by choking him with is hands and then wrapping a sheet around his neck. Prosecutors have said they will seek the death penalty against Motts. The 31-year-old Motts was serving a life sentence for killing an elderly Spartanburg County couple during a robbery in 1995. |
