LEBANON, OH — Warren County Sheriff Tom Ariss fired two of seven sheriff's deputies Wednesday in the wake of an investigation concerning improper use of the Internet that included viewing pornographic Web sites while on the job.

Lt. Shaun Wells and Sgt. Steve French were fired; Corrections Officer Martin Noe was suspended three days; Sgt. Mark Hoffman was reprimanded; Corrections Officer Robert Lanning resigned May 23.

Corrections officers Jonathan Denniston and Kenneth Gabbard, both recent hires, were disciplined by letters.

The officers viewed non-work sites using county computers, according to Ariss, including pages containing pornographic material, gaining access to a supervisor's password to get to the Ohio Law Enforcement Information Sharing Network.
