MOUNT HOLLY, NJ - A Burlington County corrections officer filed a civil rights lawsuit against the county because of a staph infection she claims she contracted at work.

Wanda Houston of Palmyra accuses county officials of failing to warn her that she could contract the "highly contagious and debilitating" staphylococcus infection from inmates.

Houston filed the suit against the county, the jail warden, the county administrator, the county health coordinator and the jail medical director.

A county spokesman declined comment on the lawsuit but said Houston, a 19-year employee, is still working at her job
