KALISPELL, MT - A jail inmate in Kalispell is recovering from a small wound after stabbing himself with a knife, in District Court. Authorities say a judge had just revoked bond for Thomas E. Straight yesterday, when the man stabbed himself in the abdomen.

The 53-year-old Straight had been awaiting his return to jail. The stabbing occurred as officers trying to take the knife from Straight struggled with him. No one else was injured.

Straight, who declined medical treatment, was placed under house arrest on two charges of felony elder abuse. He's accused exposing himself to an elderly woman. A prosecutor says the woman was uneasy about his presence in the neighborhood while the court case is pending, and therefore, the judge was asked to revoke bond.
