TULSA,OK - A man who said he tried to rob an insurance office because he wanted to know how it feels to be in jail is getting his wish, police said. Tashorn Martin is being sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted armed robbery. Police said Martin walked into the insurance office last November and pointed a pistol at an employee, and then ordered her to her knees and tied her up with duct tape. The woman said she was able to escape when Martin went into another room. A background report said Martin told authorities his reason for the robbery was to "feel what it was like to be in jail" and that he's learned to appreciate many things since being in jail. |
