Coroner: inmate death unrelated to fight

FREDONIA, KY - Preliminary autopsy results indicate the death of a West Kentucky Correctional Center inmate was due to peritonitis caused by a stomach ulcer and didn't stem from a fight.

Thirty-five-year-old Virgil Hensley Junior of Berea was found dead in his cell on June 12th. Lyon County Coroner Ronnie Patton says preliminary autopsy results point to peritonitis as the cause of death.

Records show Hensley was transferred from Marion Adjustment Center in Marion County six days before his death after a fight with another inmate
