Do drug courts work? Research shows that it depends on many factors related to how the court operates. The National Institute of Justice combined findings from several process evaluations to produce Drug Courts: The Second Decade. This report contains six chapters that cover a range of issues, including the role of the judge, the type of participants, treatment regimens, and cost-benefit concerns. NIJ is the research, development and evaluation agency of the U.S. Department of Justice and is dedicated to researching crime control and justice issues. |
