Commissioner J. David Donahue appointed Dan Ronay as Director of Staff Development and Training for the Indiana Department of Correction.

“During the 32 years Mr. Ronay spent in the US Armed Forces, he played a key role in leadership development and training which will make him a great asset for the Department. His experience as a trainer for Women's Recruit Training Battalion; Drill Instructor for new recruits, Squad Leader and Platoon Sergeant; Course Supervisor at US Marine Corps Formal Schools and a First Sergeant for four Combat Engineer Companies makes him an excellent choice for the Department,” said J. David Donahue. “I am confident that he will be able to design and implement effective training programs and workshops for correction professionals in Indiana."

Ronay has specialized training experience in ACA Standards, Correctional Management, Emergency Procedures, Cultural Competency, Use of Force, Suicide Prevention and Security Skills. He has also been instrumental in training staff and offenders on departmental policies.

Most recently, Mr. Ronay served as the interim Assistant Superintendent of Operations at the Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility. Dan began his career as a correctional officer with the Department in 1995 and has moved up the ranks and served as Commander of Camp Summit Boot Camp and Assistant Superintendent.

“Dan's energy and creativity in delivering training components are going to elevate the training curriculum for the Department,” said Bruce Lemmon, Deputy Commissioner of Administration. “We are excited to welcome him as the new Director of Staff Development and Training.”
