| ADC officers foil inmate escape plot |

PASCAGOULA, MS - Three inmates at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center are waiting to be placed in high security cells after corrections officers uncovered a plot to escape from the ADC. "We got information Friday that these three were planning an escape and the officers went into the cell and uncovered some weapons," Sheriff Mike Byrd said. ADC Director Maj. Ken Broadus said the three -- Joshua Riser, John Woods and Eric East -- would be transferred to the security area, known as "lock down" as soon as there is an opening.
