SANTA CLARA, CA - A Santa Clara County commission advising the Board of Supervisors on issues affecting women and girls has received a national award for its work on the treatment of female inmates in the jail system.

The Santa Clara County Commission on the Status of Women in July received an Outstanding Achievement Award from the National Association of Commissions for Women.
