| Commissioner, sheriff differ on jail arrangement |

OKLAHOMA COUNTY, OK - There are nearly as many people in the Oklahoma County Jail as there are in the entire town of Jones, and one-third of them are inmates from the Department of Corrections. Officials said they're all backed up in a system that is overcrowded at both the state level and the county level. Oklahoma County Commissioner Brent Rinehart suggests sending the inmates back to the state. However, Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel said the county couldn't afford the jail if the state prisoners weren't there. Read more.
