Nonprofit group shuts down

COLUMBIA, S.C. - A nonprofit organization of lawyers that represents Death Row inmates in appeals has shut down.

Columbia lawyer Dan Westbrook, chairman of The Center for Capital Litigation, says the group has run out of money, but that it may eventually reopen.

"We've got some ideas floating around on the board about what our future should be but no definite decision right now," Westbrook said "And it will probably be a while before we make a decision as to what to do. We would like to become operational again at some time in the future."
