COVINGTON, IN - Fountain County officials say some misleading information has been circulating concerning how much the building of a new county jail near Veedersburg will cost residents. According to cost estimates prepared for the county by London Witte Group LLC in November, a home with a market value of $50,000 would pay an additional $8.87 in taxes per year in service of the debt under a 20-year lease.
