Kids in corrections find more trouble

VALPARAISO, IN - Kids who go to corrections are far more likely to end up in trouble again than those who go to residential homes.

It was evidence Judge Mary Harper, who presides over Porter County Juvenile Court, presented in a heated plea to get the County Council to approve a $7 million Children and Family Services budget.

"There are a lot of people moving into this area and not all of them are good," Harper said. "We have to do something for these people, or the problem just grows and grows." Read more.
