Inmate charged with Bush threats

EAST ST. LOUIS, IL - An Illinois prison inmate has been charged with sending a threatening letter to President Bush.

Tony Stafford, a 37-year-old inmate at Menard Correctional Center, was indicted on a federal felony charge of "depositing for conveyance" at least one letter threatening to harm or kill the president. It was unclear Wednesday whether the note reached the White House.

According to the indictment, Stafford wrote between Jan. 1 and March 7: "If you were to find a bullet waiting for you once you looked out of the white house how would that feel while you were looking out your window."
