MOREHOUSE, LA - The sight of men wearing denim shirts and blue jeans emblazoned with stenciled letters walking the streets around the courthouse are about to become a thing of the past. Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office chief deputy Mike Tubbs said Thursday that 10 inmates who had been assigned to various government agencies will not be available after Monday. "We've been thinking about this for some time," Tubbs said. "The case that came up earlier this month involving a trusty who committed a crime before he came to us but was charged after we sent him to the tax assessor's office has helped us decide this would be the best time to do it."
